About UsMeet our friendly team

DaveHire Supervisor

Dave runs our the TFM Hire team, taking bookings, sorting all the back office admin but if often found hands on handing kit over, supporting our mechanic on maintenance as well as carrying out deliveries on occasions too. He came to us from a background working with automotive parts with the aim that he uses his retail experience to support our hardware and parts offering within TFM. Dave hasn't been with us long but he's certainly made a very positive impression. By the time he had completed his probation he was promoted from Hire Assistant to Hire Supervisor and we can see him going further with us.

AlanHire / General Maintenance

Whilst Alan is our general site maintenance he works closely with our Mechanic and Hire Supervisor when we need an extra set of hands due to work load, or just general cover for holidays. Alan's knowledge and experience definitely helps strengthen our team and he's more than capable of turning his hand to any task whether it's installing our estate fencing at the front of our site or repairing any piece of hire equipment requiring work. He joined us in 2020 and whilst he's now semi-retired working two days a week, he is definitely handy to have around. Qualified as a forklift driver as well as holding his 360 and cherry picker licences.

DanWarehouse Operations Co-ordinator

Dan joined us in 2020 and predominantly manages our warehouse space and coordinates stock storage, rotation and shelf filling however, as he works out in the yard and he's been with us a few years he has the knowledge and experience to support hire when they are busy or when we have staff off and need cover. Dan can do the initial hire handover and return but can also help out with deliveries for shop and hire when required. Dan is always known for having a smile on his face and is happy to help any customer with any problem. He's a well liked member of the Team usually seen working closely with Pete.

LouiseAssistant Manager

Louise rejoined us in April 2022 after working in Human Resources for four years. She had worked at TFM previously whilst studying at Sheffield Hallam University and has worked across many areas of the business throughout her time with us from Purchasing (a role she took on full time in the summer whilst we were between staff) through to customer facing work in the shop and then in 2022 came back full time as our Hire Supervisor. When Frank (her Grandad and previous Managing Director of TFM) was in palliative care, he expressed a wish for Louise to be made Assistant General Manager. At the time. Louise had only rejoined us a year and a half earlier so Nikki (her Mum and General Manager) felt it was too soon but was soon proved wrong when Nikki had to disappear from the business to care for her Dad. Louise's promotion happened shortly afterwards. Her experience across so many areas of the business as well as her years in HR have given her a good breadth of knowledge and experience from back office to customer facing both on the hire and shop side of the business. One day when Nikki retires, Louise will take on the day to day running of the business.

NikkiGeneral Manager

Nikki joined TFM ten years ago when the business was a quarter of the turnover it is today and two years after her Dad (Frank) had inherited the business. She had spent ten years working in the print/copy IT solutions industry starting there as a Contracts Administrator before moving successfully through roles as a Consultant, National Accounts Manager and latterly a Prince 2 Project Management Practitioner working on vast projects such as installations across large University and Hospital campuses. More relevant to Hire, her early career was spent in the motor trade where she had 13 years working for Jaguar, Land Rover, Volkswagen and Audi mainly on the Service side of the business but also Customer Relations, Sales and Administration. All this experience has given her a good grounding for TFM even if she had to learn the industry from scratch. Frank (Dad) took a step back through Covid (March 2020) due to health concerns but he didn't fully retire until the week before he died in June 2023 so she fully embraces the support Louise and the Team are now able to offer her in his absence. She knows she will never be able to fill her Dad's shoes but she'll always endeavour to look after the customers, the business and the amazing Team of staff.
